Applied Spectroscopy has featured Focal Point review papers on different aspects of fundamental and applied spectroscopy since 1994. These review papers are peer-reviewed and are intended to provide an introduction, overview, and perspective on the subject of the review. In keeping with the mandate of the Society to “… advance and disseminate knowledge and information concerning the art and science of spectroscopy and other allied sciences,” these review papers are available on a completely open access basisThis means that the articles are freely available to scientists, students, and the general public worldwide.
