bulletNEWSLETTER - The Spectrum is our online newsletter published several times a year. It covers topics of interest to members including award announcements, meeting information, and much more.
bulletMEMBER DIRECTORY – Sent out once a year to all members including students. This a terrific resource because it enables you to find members who have similar career interests and provides with contact information so you can get in touch.
bulletCONFERENCE, MEETING and SUBSCRIPTION DISCOUNTS - Members receive discounts to FACSS which is the SAS national meeting as well as discounts to other premier publications including JAAS and Spectrochimica Acta B. Additionally, the magazine Optics and Photonics News (published by the Optical Society of America) is yours for free.
bulletONLINE EMPLOYMENT BUREAU - Hosted by JobTarget, our employment site is free for you to use for job searches or for resume posting.
bulletTECHNICAL and LOCAL SECTIONS – SAS members are entitled to membership in one technical or local section free of charge. Joining one of these groups gives you the opportunity to network and learn by interacting with those in your area of interest or geographical location.
bulletNETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES - SAS hosts an annual Wine and Cheese Reception at the FACSS meeting each fall. Students are also invited to attend a student only party at PITTCON each Spring. The Society also offers students the opportunity to volunteer in various capacities including working on committees, with local and technical sections, and running for office as the student representative to the SAS Governing Board.
bulletAWARDS – SAS offers both undergraduate and graduate student awards for outstanding work in spectroscopy. We also host an annual poster competition at FACSS and our local sections offer numerous recognition programs
