Polishing Jig for Infrared-Cell Windows
Volume 21, Number 1 (Feb. 1967) Page 45-45

Frequent hand-polishing of infrared-cell windows, particularly the softer materials such as cesium iodide and bromide, can easily result in a convex surface and a wedge shape instead of flat, parallel sides. A simple jig has been used in this laboratory for some time to prevent this occurrence during grinding of the crystal blanks and polishing to final finish.
