Infrared Spectra of Sulfinamides

Volume 22, Number 4 (Aug. 1968) Page 346-346

Smith, Walter T.; Wu, Anthony

The infrared spectrum of the sulfur-oxygen bond in many types of sulfur compounds is well documented, but little information is available concerning the infrared absorption due to the sulfur-oxygen bond of sulfinamides. We have prepared a number of sulfinamides and have recorded the bands which are characteristic of the sulfur-oxygen stretching vibration in these compounds. Table I lists the substituted sulfinamides, together with their absorption in the region under consideration.
