For infrared spectrophotometric analysis of moderately volatile liquids which are corrosive or toxic, special precautions must be taken to prevent evaporation of the sample into the spectrophotometer or the laboratory atmosphere. This note concerns a simple liquid-film cell from which all noxious vapor can be continuously exhausted through a decontamination trap.
