Spectrographic Porous Cup Technique For The Analysis of Indium Alloys

A quantitative spectrographic procedure is described for the determination of the following alloying constituents in indium within the designated concentration ranges, silver (1.0 to 3.0%), gallium (0.1 to 2.0%), zinc (0.1 to 2.0%), and aluminum (0.1 to 1.0%) A porous cup solution technique is used with a c spark excitation and indium as an internal standard reference. The accuracy of the method ranges from 4.0 to 8.3% of the amount found, depending on the element and concentration level of interest.
