Recently, excitation of Raman spectra with circularly polarized light has become an important method for the study of vibrational optical activity. This effect which originates in the interference between electromagnetic waves scattered through the electronic polarizability and the electronic optical activity of the molecule can be studied through the difference of the scattered Raman intensity from right and left circularly polarized incident light.
