Some Comments on the Superiority of Stepwise Laser-Enhanced (Collisional) Ionization as Compared to Laser Photoionization in Flames: The Aspect of Sensitivity and Selectivity

Volume 44, Number 1 (Jan. 1990) Page 144-147

Axner, O.; Sjöström, S.

The high sensitivity of laser-based ionization techniques for detection of atoms in flames, primarily Laser-Enhanced Ionization (LEI) spectrometry, has successfully been demonstrated in several publications during the last decade. Detection limits in the ppt-ppb region for traces in solutions have been established for a number of elements.
