Some Experimental Aspects of the Spectroscopy of the Emission Intensity of Simple Radicals

Volume 47, Number 11 (Nov. 1993) Page 1788-1793

Di Stefano, G.; Ricci, A.

Experimental distributions of rotational line strength have been recently obtained for the first time in weak transitions of diatomic species [Chem. Phys. 165, 201 (1992)]. Contrary to widespread opinion, a very simple apparatus has been sufficient to achieve this goal, but certain attention must be paid to a few specific points. A description is reported, where some experimental requirements, due to the quantitative character of this spectroscopy, are emphasized.
